About Michael Hackmer

Over the last 10 years my experience has been in marketing, sales, public relations, grassroots organization and government affairs. I have successfully managed marketing campaigns for some of the world’s leading technology companies, as well as developed public relations and government affairs strategies for the nation’s leading retail corporations. I have experience in reaching public and private sector audiences, as well as B2B and B2C audiences.

At present, I am the Senior Community Manager for GovWin.com, which is a professional network for businesses and government contractors to share opportunities and best practices.

My role at GovWin is to manage the online activities of our users, engage new members, provide educational resources that enhance the member experience, and identify ways to grow the community. In addition, the team I supervise handles all social media engagement for GovWin.com, and manages programs designed to increase on-site engagement.

Recent Success at GovWin.com

Some of my recent success at GovWin includes:

  • Increased GovWin.com on-site engagement by 5% in just 1 month.
  • Developed and rolled-out GovWin’s first Virtual Roundtable series designed to bring executives and subject-matter experts from leading government contractors together to discuss key issues, which has generated over 4,000 unique page views and 10,000 minutes on the site in less than 4 months.
  • Devised and implemented multi-phased social media strategy designed to increase on-site engagement and expand thought-leadership, which has included creating a YouTube and Livestream content strategy. The GovWin Livestream channel has generated over 108,000 viewer minutes and over 4,700 video streams.

Professional Background

Prior to joining GovWin / Deltek, I was the social media and online marketing manager for BIA/Kelsey. I also have held marketing, project management and communications positions with companies in the technology and consulting industries, as well as government relations for non-profits.

In addition to my professional background, I am a freelance reporter / blogger. In November of 2008 I started a weekly radio program, which covers topics in media, new media, technology and marketing. The show is called Social Web Radio. My goals include learning more about Social Media, networking and technology – especially in how they are changing the way we communicate with one another, process information, and make purchasing decisions.
