About Michael Hackmer
Welcome to the home of Colliding with the Social Web.
My name is Michael Hackmer, and I am a marketing professional and part-time journalist and blogger who is interested in media (new and traditional), technology and marketing, and how technology can impact the social webs we build and come into contact with every day.
The focus of my blog is to delve into these areas and to see what lessons can be learned or new things discovered.
I write about new companies, marketing tactics I think are effective, new business / technology ideas, trends in media and society. Over the last 10 years my experience has been in marketing, sales, public relations, grassroots organization and government affairs. I have successfully managed marketing campaigns for some of the world’s leading technology companies, as well as developed public relations and government affairs strategies for the nation’s leading retail corporations. I have experience in reaching public and private sector audiences, as well as B2B and B2C audiences.
I have held positions in online marketing, seo and content optimization, online community management, as well as product development.

My professional goals include learning more about Social Media, networking and technology – especially in how they are changing the way we communicate with one another, process information, and make purchasing decisions. I also want to help people to build out their digital strategies, and become more successful at their overall marketing and customer engagement efforts.
